Rachel Duncan has been named the head varsity swimming coach for both the boys and girls swim teams for the upcoming 2017-2018 season. Duncan served as the assistant swim coach at AACS in 2016-2017.
Duncan swam four years at the University of New Mexico where she competed at the Western Athletic Conference championships (freshman and sophomore years) and the Mountain West Conference championships (junior and senior years). Duncan was part of a 400 freestyle relay team which holds a current school record. She also served as a co-captain her senior year.
Rachel Duncan says, "I am excited to be coaching again next year at AACS, but this time in a heightened role. Seeing swimmers grow together as a team is a supernatural phenomenon and truly a gift from God. As athletes encourage one another in and out of the pool, confidence will increase and more school and personal records will be set. There is a lot to look forward to in the coming year!"
"AACS is blessed to have Coach Duncan assume the head coaching position at AACS. She had a successful collegiate career at the Division I level and served as our varsity assistant coach last season. She has the respect of our swimmers and has shown a great understanding of what is expected of a varsity coach at AACS. I am excited to watch Coach Duncan lead this program." - Jim Domoracki, Athletic Director
